Setting-Up Service Contact the City of McKinney, Utility Billing at 972-547-7550 Home Owners:  If a customer owns a home and the does not posses a trash and recycling container, the customer must fill out an application for water/trash/sewer services, provide a photo I.D. and pay a $40.00 deposit and a $15.00 service fee.  The application may be filled out at the Utility Billing Office, faxed to the customer or found online at Utility Billing  Customers will receive their 95 gallon trash and 65 gallon recycling container within 48 to 72 hours. Rentals/Leases:  If the property is a rental/lease, the customer must submit an application, provide a photo I.D. and pay the appropriate deposit and fees as indicated above, and provide a copy of the rental or lease agreement, or a letter from the property owner allowing applicant to reside at the residents.  Customers will receive their 95 gallon trash and 65 gallon recycling container within 48 to 72 hours. Solid Waste Collection Rates – Click Here   Residential Solid Waste Collection Routes – Click Here   Service Include: Once per week fully automated collection service for residential solid waste and recyclables.  Each single family household is provided with a single 95 gallon cart for trash, and a 65 gallon cart for recyclables. Service Guidelines Have your cart(s) curbside by 7:00 a.m. on your collection day. Place cart(s) at least 3 feet apart; includes mailboxes, utility meters, poles, fences, etc. All trash must be inside the cart! Items outside the cart will not be collected. The front of the cart (side with the serial number) should be facing the street. All contents should be bagged with the cart lid closed to prevent spillage. An overloaded cart will result in non-collection. Missed Trash & Recycling Collection To report missed trash or recycling collection, contact IESI at (469) 452-8000 Bulky Item Collection Bulky items (defined as items that can be loaded by 2 people in less than 5 minutes) will be picked up at each residence up to 12 times per year at not charge.  Bundled tree limbs and bagged grass/yard clippings do not count towards a residents’ 12 free bulky items pick up per year.  Limbs must be cut into lengths less than 4 feet, securely tied in bundles and shall not exceed 50 pounds.  IESI will collect bulky items and up to 10 bags or bundles of yard waste on the residents’ regular trash collection day using a different truck.  To schedule a bulky items collection, contact IESI at 469-452-8000 at least one day prior to your regular trash collection day.
